Night Sky Embers is a contemporary fibre art wall piece created using wool sourced from Kerry Woollen Mills and woven on the artist’s own handmade Irish peg loom. The work is anchored on a naturally finished Sally wood branch, sanded smooth and treated with mineral oil to enhance its organic grain.
Deep black wool is interwoven with ember‑like flecks of red, orange, yellow, and subtle colour accents, evoking the glow of fire against a night sky. Long cotton warp strands fall in uneven lengths, creating a sculptural verticality that blurs the line between textile art and wall sculpture.
