Solo Exhibition · What Can You See · Is being showcased at

                                             The Fabulous Watergate Theatre, Kilkenny

Join us for the launch of What Can You See by Christina Drennan at 5.30pm on Friday, 5th September.

Christina invites you to · What Can You See · a textile exhibition that unfolds through richly layered materials and marks, inviting each viewer to become a storyteller.

Christina’s work weaves together repurposed fabrics, mindful mark making, and found remnants drawn from daily life to challenge the culture of over consumption. Through texture, colour, and form, Christina hopes you’ll discover something unexpected, something that speaks to the potential of everyday materials to hold meaning, to shift perspective, and to spark your own interpretation.

Everyone Welcome!

In this latest solo exhibition, What Can You See, I explore the beauty and potential of materials often discarded or overlooked. This body of work consists of  pieces, each created organically and intuitively.

From waste threads cast aside by sewing machines to loose wool that falls during the weaving process, to fabric remnants collected from my workshops—these materials are often seen as insignificant. Yet, in my hands, they find new life as intricate works of art. This collection is a reflection of my deep-rooted belief that nothing should be underestimated. Every material has potential; every fiber holds a story.

Throughout What Can You See. Rich textures of Irish wool, mohair, jute, and cotton fabrics intertwine with free-motion embroidery, decorative stitching, and an intricate layering of fibers. Each piece is created using sustainability in mind, circular innovation created with  craftsmanship, and the magic of transformation.

This exhibition is more than an artistic statement; it is an invitation to reimagine the possibilities hidden in the overlooked. As you move through the collection, I encourage you to reflect on the aspects of life, materials, ideas, or even people and recognise their true potential.

Join me in celebrating the power of the What Can You See..
